We are so pleased to announce our keynote, Professor Jessica Meyer, who will be presenting a most fascinating lecture on her latest research at the Golden Age of Crime!

Jessica Meyer is Professor of British Social and Cultural History at the University of Leeds. Her research interests lie at the intersections of gender, war and popular culture, with particular expertise in the First World War and its legacy in Britain. She has published two monographs, Men of War: Masculinity and the First World War in Britain (Palgrave, 2009) and An Equal Burden: The Men of the Royal Army Medical Corps in the First World War (OUP, 2019), as well as articles on a range of topics including representations of war and war trauma in detective fictions.
She is co-host of Oh! What a Lovely Podcast, where the First World War meets popular culture.

The conference takes place at Florida State University’s London Study Centre. 99 Great Russell St, London WC1B 3LH. The FSU London Study Centre is housed in the heart of the historic Bloomsbury district within walking distance of a variety of historic sites.

Nearest tube station: Tottenham Court Road

We are planning informal activities around the conference, to take advantage of the historic location, and will update delegates ahead of time!
